The design for this site called for a long, panoramic image to be used for the header. The concept was that each “page” or section of the site would be on a single horizontal plane, and clicks in the navigation would auto-scroll the header image and content to the left or right. Because of this stipulation (and knowing that we would need to provide an alternative to visitors without JavaScript capability) we implemented a custom CMS which we used to divide content into “pages” and simply pull multiple content blocks into a single plane. This approach allowed us to architect the site as designed while having individual pages as the default for less-capable visitors.
